The online journal to Offscreen Magazine — for all the things that don't fit into the magazine. We also regularly publish behind the scenes info about the making of Offscreen. Why not follow along and grab the RSS feed?
Hi Kai,
I just wanted to write a few words to you as Offscreen has inspired me like no other publication I’ve read. It came at the right time in my life, when I was incredibly unhappy in my job, and after picking up a copy of your magazine, and reading the various stories in it, I threw caution to the wind and quit my job, with nothing else lined up.
Risky yes, but it turned out well—I found another position (an infinitely better one, and at a much larger—better—company, no less) almost straight away. It turns out I just needed to take the leap, and Offscreen was the instigator.
It’s funny how things work out.
It also inspired me to get back into web design, something that’s always interested me (hence why I picked up the magazine), which I’m thoroughly enjoying. I discovered A Book Apart through your article on Dan Cederholm, and bought a few of their books.
Anyway, as someone who’s worked in publishing I know that positive feedback from customers is rare (although I’m sure it’s not for you) so I just wanted to drop you a line and say thanks!
Regards,
D.C.
—With this email I’m starting to publish some of the feedback I get from you through different channels. Emails like this are exactly what keeps me going through rough patches. I absolutely love hearing how Offscreen impacts on its readers around the world.
So, please feel free to email me with your thoughts, comments, ideas and—of course—criticism, and with your consent I might publish and respond to them publicly here.
